Glass Animals Finishes Off Massive ‘Dreamland’ Tour With A Sold-Out DC Show!

Glass Animals have seen incredible success in recent years, and that success is clearly reflected in the hoards of fans that have shown up all over the country for their Dreamland tours! At the end of their most recent tour this past March, they had two nights booked at The Anthem in Washington, DC. Both completely sold-out, and with night 2 being the last night of tour, the energy onstage and in the crowd was electric!

Openers Sad Night Dynamite started out the show with a very high energy performance, jumping all across the stage and getting the crowd hyped up! When performing their song ‘Demon’, they pulled out a megaphone to give the song a little extra effect, and the crowd loved it! At one point, they got everyone in the audience to pull out their phone lights and wave them back and forth, which illuminated the band onstage perfectly.

When Glass Animals finally took to the stage, people went absolutely wild! One of the first songs they performed was hit ‘Tangerine’, and got whole crowd was singing and dancing all over the venue. One fan at the barricade in particular had a sign saying “please sign my tangerine!” and sure enough, lead singer Dave Bayley caught the fan’s tangerine and signed it for him!

Some stand out songs in particular included ‘Space Ghost Coast to Coast’, newest single ‘I Don’t Wanna Talk (I Just Wanna Dance)’, and their song ‘Gooey’, during which people all throughout the crowd were singing along even louder than the band. And of course, when the band went offstage for the encore, everyone in The Anthem took up the “wavey Davey” chant, encouraging the band back onstage one last time for an explosive encore consisting of their hit songs ‘Tokyo Drifting’ and ‘Heat Waves’.

As the night ended and Glass Animals exited the stage for the last time, waving at their audience, the last things fans saw from the stage was the giant computer-like screen saying “It’s now safe to turn off your computer. Thank you DC.”
