Meet The Team

Corey Kleinsasser – Southern California

Owner l Editor-in-Chief l Social Media Manager l Promotions Director l Podcast Participant for Concert Crap since October 2013

I graduated from Cal Poly Pomona in 2015 with a degree in Journalism, and I have worked various jobs in the marketing, social media, journalism and public relations field, on top of Editor-in-Chief for Concert Crap throughout.  I have plenty of communications skills in editing, creating content, writing, public relations, photography, website editing, publicity, promotions and more. I started Concert Crap in October 2013 for a class and ran with it, creating posts for every show that I’ve attended with photos and reviews, and slowly moving towards additional endeavors such as artist interviews, album reviews, features, and more. Since starting the website, social media, and everything under Concert Crap, I have honed my own writing, social media, marketing, and many more skills I have used in my every day life, whether that be with full time, part time, or freelance jobs.

I am an aspiring writer currently based out of Southern California.  I am currently pursuing a degree in Communications at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. When I’m not writing for Concert Crap, I can usually be found trying to sharpen my skills on guitar or researching new products that could help him achieve certain guitar tones. Also, I like going to shows (especially at Chain Reaction), going to shows, and trying new food.

Chris Ventura – Southern California

Associate Producer for Concert Crap since February 2016

I’m a 2014 Cal Poly Pomona graduate with a degree in Communication/Journalism. Aside from my day job, I’m a freelance writer/photographer and have had years of experience in radio, internet, and television production—including my own experimental project: The Chris Ventura Show on iTunes and YouTube. There’s something absolutely fantastic about starting out with an idea and bringing it to life; starting with a blank slate, exploring the limits of the medium, and then exploiting those limits with the creative talents of a great team, and then to end with a completed project that entertains and/or informs others—something all can be proud of having created together–is the greatest thing on Earth. I’m constantly on the go, and music is a big part of my life. It’s amazing how a certain song can make you feel—perhaps a fond memory or simply the appreciation of a wonderful work of musical art. I have the greatest respect for all musicians, songwriters, and vocalists out there.

Gigi Gradillas – Orange County, California

Writer/Social Media Assistant for Concert Crap since 2016

As a music journalist I love being introduced to genres of all sorts but my absolute favorites are anything from the ‘70s (if your dad listens to it I probably love it), and ‘90s/2000s R&B. I’m stoked to be able to share my thoughts with readers and listeners who share the same passion. Catch me IRL at every concert under the disco ball, virtually on IG, or through your ears on our Concert Crap Podcast!

Elizabeth Owens – Germantown, MD

Photographer/Writer for Concert Crap since October 2018

Hi! I’m Elizabeth, and I’m a gig photographer/review writer based in the Washington, DC area. When I’m not shooting shows, making LEGO Tiny Tributes, or writing reviews for Concert Crap, I’m a freelance graphic designer, illustrator, and LEGO minifigure customizer! I’ve been covering shows professionally since 2017, but only CC has given me opportunities to discover and share music by artists that I’ve truly grown to love. I can’t wait to share even more of the world’s most passionate performers within rock, pop, K-pop, and more with all of you!

Taylor Pettitt – Virginia/North Carolina

Photographer for Concert Crap since 2019, Twitter manager for Concert Crap since 2019

Hey! My name is Taylor and I’ve been shooting gigs for about year and a half now! I first started out by making concert vlogs on YouTube for fun, and soon realized that wasn’t a viable career choice (demonetization and all). But it helped me figure out my love for creating something from concerts, so it easily melted into concert photography! Since then, I’ve asserted myself onto this path to be the best concert photographer I can be, and I’m happy to continue this journey wherever it may take me!

Krystie Lee Archer – Houston, Texas

Photographer/Writer/ Spotify Queen for Concert Crap since April 2020

Hiiiiiii, Im Krystiee! I’m a Photographer/Writer for a few different magazines along with Concert Crap. I absolutely LOVE music and being able to discover more and more bands/artists each day, so you can definitely say, I’m a hardcore music junkie. I grew up with my dad being the drummer for a band in the 90’s and ever since then I’ve always adored and appreciated everything that comes with music. I currently do all types of photography but my main focus is shooting shows. When i don’t have my camera in hand, I’m a momma-bear to a crazy and sassy little 7 year old who keeps me on my toes constantly, and I also work full time as a receptionist in the Texas Medical Center. I love art, tattoos, and discovering new music (obviously)

My favorite bands include Deftones, Linkin Park, Raunchy, and Lamb Of God.

Rock on!

Randall Barron – Portland Oregon

Developer for Concert Crap since April 2020

Music has always been the highest art for me, and while I lean in a hard rock and metal direction, I appreciate all forms of music. A former musician, I was lucky enough to work for Universal Music Group building artist websites and working on various projects, including working for Jimmy Iovine and Doug Marks.

Nikki Phillips – Southern California, Philadelphia/Tri-State, USA

Photographer | Writer | Social Media – since March 2021

Crowned pop punk queen two decades ago and the rest is history… I’ve been photographing for fifteen years, but have adopted an extra special love for live event and docu-style photography. I strive to capture genuine, candid moments even in the most chaotic and crowded environments. Highlighting character and talent through intimate angles in classic black and white stylization is one of my favorite approaches to photography. I am based in Los Angeles, but frequent my hometown of Philly often. I am always up for traveling to provide show coverage and enjoy absorbing artist and audience energy from various cities across the country. Currently, my biggest goals are to tour with an artist and to have a print feature in a music publication.

Rick Ward – Southern California

Photographer- I started getting into photography in 2015 and fell into concert photography around 2019. I absolutely love it. There aren’t many things better than being right in front of a band, taking pictures then going home to see what treasures were captured. And while in the moment, with my camera nothing else matters. My first assignment with Concert Crap was supposed to happen right when the Covid Shut downs started so I haven’t had the pleasure of sharing any galleries here yet. But, I do have one song review credit in my name on here and that’s pretty cool too!

David Painter – Detroit, Michgan

Photographer | Writer – since August 2017

I am a photographer and writer based out of Detroit, MI. I rediscovered photography on a whim in 2017 after not having touched a camera, other than point-and-shoots, since my high school film photography class around the turn of the millenia. The camera (and music) have become a large part of my everyday life in the years since and has awarded me a lot of opportunities I would have otherwise never knew existed.
