Photos: Lime Cordiale brings their Australian groove to Bardot, Hollywood

Who: Lime Cordiale

Where: “It’s A School Night” – Bardot, Hollywood, California

When: March 26, 2018

Every Monday, The Bardot hosts new and emerging artists in their intimate venue above The Avalon. It’s a weekly event appropriately called “School Night” and in late March, Lime Cordiale visited their stage.

Hailing from Australia, Lime Cordiale focuses on two brothers; Louie and Ollie Leimbach (hence the “Lime” in their name). While the band has expanded to a full five-piece including a brass and keys section, their visit to the states required guests to fill these positions. As Ollie himself put it, “Our friends had trouble coming with us since a certain president has made it a bit more difficult”. The light-hearted comment attracted laughter from not only his temporary band mates but from the audience and me as well.

Lime Cordiale have a poppy, light-hearted sound that helped me forget the fact that it was a cold and windy night in Hollywood that evening. They filled the room with their warm music to an engaged audience before closing out with “Temper Temper”, the leading single off their debut record Permanent Vacation, which was released in October of last year.
