Song Review: Brian Kelley Goes Solo and Releases “Beach Cowboy”

The popular duo, Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard, more commonly known as Florida Georgia Line, decided to take a temporary break to release solo music.

Kelley took the opportunity to release BK’s Wave Pack consisting of four summer-styled songs just in time for the warm weather.

The most popular, and my personal favorite, “Beach Cowboy” is simplistic and has zero depth in the lyrics, but that’s what I love so much about it. The song follows the good vibes and laid-back style that Florida Georgia Line has set in place since the beginning of their career.

The accompanying music video isn’t exactly what you’d expect but pretty close to it. It opens with gorgeous views of the beach and then pans over to Brian Kelley who is singing along while of course riding his “two-wheel steel horse”. Kelley spent the time writing “Beach Cowboy” at a more relaxed pace and took inspiration from one of his earliest influences, Alan Jackson.

The song is intended to be simple, yet fun. And it’s exactly that. The literal vibe of the song reminds me of sipping on something tropical while enjoying the waves. To say the least, it’s a mood and I’ve had it on repeat all day.

I highly suggest listening to the song but don’t listen for the lyrics, listen for the strong instrumentals and coastal-style beat.
