17 Years Later, Tears For Fears Are Back With New Album: The Tipping Point

Originally formed in 1981 and creating hits such as “Shout”, “Everybody Wants To Rule The World” and “Head Over Heels”, Tears For Fears are back with their first album in over 17 years titled The Tipping Point.

Released on February 25th 2022, The Tipping Point certainly separates itself from the classic hits/albums that we are all accustomed to, but in a way that it works. This album comes off from a more mature perspective, reflecting on time and life all while maintaining their ambient tones.

Back in 2017, Roland Orzabal’s first wife passed away, some of the songs on this album certainly reflect on that loss, and Orzabal’s challenges on overcoming such an impactful loss. Meanwhile the bands former management were advising and discouraging the band from making a new album altogether, in which the band illustrates it in the song “Master Plan”.

From tragedy caused by loss to adversary from former management, all while reflecting on growth, The Tipping Point is Tears For Fears most mature yet ambitious album to date.
