Mo Pop returns to the Detroit river front after a long two-year hiatus thanks to our friend the pandemic. Luckily for us though, in its eighth official year, Mo Pop has graciously broken its no-repeat-artists rule with the first two-time performer in Glass Animals who last lit up the stage all the way back in 2016. The festival is also hitting hard with hometown hero Big Sean headlining, and he is no doubt is going to make the surrounding skyscrapers wobble.
Khruangnbin and Girl In Red fill some of the bigger spots in the festivals lineup while artists Jhené Aiko, Kaytranada, Dominic Fike, Dayglow, Ashe, The Backseat Lovers, The Marías, Wet Leg, Beach Bunny, and Horsegirl are some of the other performers on this year’s roster.
Classic Mo Pop experiences return like the “The Shipyard,” a pop-up restaurant area showcasing some of the city’s best food, as do the arcade, a craft bazaar, a flea market, and plenty of artwork to oogle as you walk the festival grounds.
Mo Pop offers several options for the upcoming festival including single-day, weekend, VIP, and fast lane passes, pricing all of which can be found at mopopfestival.com. There is a down payment plan available for those that will find it helpful and children six years and younger will be granted free admission in the GA area with an adult paid pass holder.
