Trivium plays to a SOLD OUT hometown show in Orlando

October 16th, 2022: Florida is known for many things, one being the obvious “Florida Man”. We are also known for our delicious pub subs from Publix. However, amongst those, we are also known for birthing one of the best metal bands of all time, Trivium. Orlando Florida’s very own Trivium played to a sold out hometown show by bringing their “Deadmen and Dragons” tour! The tour mainly consisted of their newer songs from 2 of their recent albums, What The Deadmen Say, and In The Court Of The Dragon, however they definitely did not shy away from performing the older songs as well.

As they were about to get on stage, there was a white curtain hanging from the top, as you see the silhouettes of the members of the band walking in and the intro song “IX” is playing, towards the end of it, the curtain drops and the band instantly kicks into “What the Dead men say”. The pit goes nuts and forms a mosh/circle pit! Orlando is making sure Trivium is feeling welcomed in their hometown! This was immediately followed by “Into the Mouth of Hell We March”, a song that has been rarely played on previous tours. Trivium Vocalist Matt Heafy then gets on the mic to talk about how his first metal concert experience was a Machinehead show here at the House Of Blues, and how great it is for life to come full circle by Trivium playing at the same venue.

The band then proceeds to play newer songs from their last 3 albums such as “The Sin and the Sentence” and “A Crisis of Revelation” followed by “Chaos Reigns” from their In Waves album (Which had just turned 11 years old back in August). They then proceed to play more songs off their latest album In The Court Of The Dragon such as “The Show Of the Abattoir” and the title track “In The Court of the Dragon”.

Matt Heafy then pauses for a moment to let the audience know that so far on the tour, Atlanta has been the best crowd yet, and to our dismay, we simply could not allow that to be the case. We let the band know that WE are the best crowd of the tour, especially for a hometown show. The crowd was energetic the whole way through.

Another song that Trivium has rarely played in the past was “To The Rats” from The Crusade album. Personally, I was surprised this was on the set list but it was awesome! They then proceeded with “The Heart From Your Hate” midway through the song though, they had to stop as Matt Heafy noticed a fight breaking out in the crowd. Matt asked if they were good and to stop that, this is not the time or place for that kind of behavior. They then kicked it off from the 2nd verse of the song once that was settled.

Trivium then proceeded to play a highly fan demanded song “Shogun” followed by “Pull Harder on the strings of Your Martyr”, they then walked off the stage prior to playing their last song. “Capsizing the Sea” is playing in the background as the band enters back to the stage. Matt then demands the crowd to get down and to get back up when the song “In Waves” kicks in, Matt proceeds to scream “IN WAVES!” as the crowd jumps back up and gives it all that they got! Needles to say, we made sure that their hometown of Orlando, Florida was and will be the best crowd on this tour!
