One of Australia’s finest exports, Tonight Alive, have unleashed their new album Limitless upon us and proven that they will be here for years to come with their high energetic pop punk skills.
Led by the incredibly talented Jenna McDougal, each of the 11 tracks was produced by David Bendeth, who has previously worked with Paramore and Bring Me the Horizon.
With that said, each song off of Limitless is synonymous to the album title, because they have no limit.
The first vocals off of the album state, “Don’t come looking for me. I don’t want to be found. I just want to be free.” This, like much of the album, can easily tie into to the younger generation that will listen to it. It will almost, without a doubt, reach out to those that listen to it with an open mind and connect on a level that may not be reached by some.
“Drive” is one of the catchiest songs off of the album and can easily “drive” its way into pop radio and be listened by the masses. Immediately after that is the infectious “How does it Feel,” which will grab you in and take you on a journey as soon as that first guitar line hooks you in.
“The Greatest,” “Oxygen” and “Human Interaction” dive deeper into melancholy with its power ballad sounds. The band experimented with many more sounds on this album and it works well for them since they have been evolving since their beginnings.
You get the feeling that the band is inching closer and closer to larger scale shows and into rock stardom with this album.
The whole album will probably be compared to Paramore by many, but it shouldn’t because that will take away from the one-of-a-kind sound that Tonight Alive brings to the genre. They are in a division all their own and shouldn’t be compared to anyone else. They are setting the standard for what it takes to become an influential band.
