Getting to know Fable Cry

Fable Cry - Promo

CC: What is Fable Cry all about?

Fable Cry is a theatrical cabaret circus made up of cuties and cads all posing as a rock band!

CC: Can you describe what “theatrical scamp-rock” is?

It’s rock music with a cheeky, trickster attitude dressed up in the finest of silks.  And you better believe them cheeks is rouged!

CC: What influenced you guys to start making this kind of music?

Since I started it in 2010, the goal has always been to be our own favorite band.  What would we like to hear in a band?  What do we wish people were doing?  What kind of live show would we want to go see?  How would we want them to interact with us, if we were in the crowd?  Honestly, we have a long way to go before we’re really satisfied, but if I found us, I would wish that I had come up with it.

CC: How much did the Nashville music scene impact you starting a band, and currently being a band?  Is the city supportive?

None of us in the band are from Nashville, but we all ended up here or stayed here for music.  It’s a musician’s town.  Finding cats and kitties who can really lay down some sonic law is not difficult, and when I put out the call, it was sounded on a horn that only the rarest could hear – that helped filter out the normies, and the unprepared.  Because just about everyone plays music, or wants to. It can be a little uptight at times.  Overall though, we have been very well received and the people are rad ass.

CC: Who would you want to work with in the future?

Tom Waits, Danny Elfman, and Tim Burton.  We would definitely be okay with those.

CC: What does the rest of 2016 hold for Fable Cry?

Lots of touring.  We are doing SXSW this month, a north east tour in the spring, another in summer, hopefully another video of some kind in the fall, and lots in between!

CC: Anything else?

Thanks for reading.  You didn’t have to.  There’s a lot of interesting things on the Internet, but you took the time to read this.  If we’re meeting for the first time, I’d love it if you checked out our album and videos; afterall, you’ve already read an entire interview.  And if you’re reading this because you support us already and dig what we do, then you are darling and must be really into it because I’m ridiculous.  #letsmakeout

Thanks!
