Third Place talks theatrical rock, “Rise of Chaos”, and more

Concert Crap: You guys have a very catchy theatrical rock sound, where does that stem from?

Francis Rainville: I enjoy a lot of theatrical bands like My Chemical, Muse, Avenged Sevenfold etc., and I think it all came together when we were choosing which six songs we were gonna record from the 25 demos we had. We decided that this is the sound we were going for.

CC: Your Rise of Chaos EP was released a few weeks ago, how proud are you of it?

FR: We think this is the best music we’ve written so far and we are really proud of it. This is music that I would actually listen to if I wasn’t in the band.

CC: What was your best moment when creating it?

FR: We rented a big “chalet” for one week to be able to be all together and write songs for the new album, that was pretty cool!

CC: How have fans a critics received it?

FR: Fans are loving the album even more than what we expected. We are very lucky to have such supportive fans.

CC: Who are you hoping to tour with in support of this release?

FR: Our dream bands would be Green Day, Sum 41 or Blink 182.

CC: If you could be in another city in the world for your music to grow and to reach others, which city would you pick and why?

FR: It would be Los Angeles, just because the music industry is a lot bigger than in Quebec, Canada, especially for the English market.

CC: Would you ever like to bring a Third Place play to a showroom with theatrics aplenty one day?

FR: It would be another dream come true! We hope that we’re gonna be able to do it on a long term plan!

CC: Is there anything else you’d like to say to your fans or anyone viewing this interview right now?

FR: Thanks to all the music lover in the world, musicians and bands need you as much as you need them! Continue encouraging music! Peace, we love you. 8>
