Sleeping With Sirens Brings Family Tree Tour to the Soul Kitchen

Sleeping With Sirens brought their Family Tree Tour to the Soul Kitchen in Mobile, AL on May 17, 2023. This was the pop-punk band’s 2nd stop on their 13-city tour taking place in May and June. Supporting the tour are post-hardcore band Dayseeker and indie alt-rock artist M.A.G.S. The tour started on May 16 in Little Rock, AR and concludes on June 2 in Riverside, CA.

The Mobile show sold out in a matter of days, leaving many fans disappointed. However, for those lucky enough to obtain tickets it was a night to remember. The crowd was hyped from the very start. Unfortunately, Mobile was one of two cities where Dayseeker was not on the bill, that spot was filled by local band Empty Hands. After performances by the Empty Hands and M.A.G.S., everyone in the club warmed up their vocal cords shouting along to songs like “Living On A Prayer” while waiting for Sleeping With Sirens to take the stage.

The band entered the stage with music playing in the background. Singer Kellin Quinn went straight to the front of the stage glaring at the crowd with hands held over head to cheers from fans. They launched into “Tally It Up: Settle The Score” from their sophomore album Let’s Cheers to This. Everyone was jumping along with Quinn as he bounced around the stage. Shockingly with over 800 live performances to the band’s credit, this was their first ever in the state of Alabama. Quinn made this fact known prior to “Kick Me” when he said “holy f*ck about time Alabama”.

Midway through their set Sleeping With Sirens slowed things down with a short acoustic interlude. They performed “Scene Five – With Ears to See, and Eyes to Hear” and The Goo Goo Dolls classic “Iris”. Fans had their hands in the air swaying from side to side.

Sleeping With Sirens performed songs spanning their decade-plus career including their latest album Complete Collapse which was released at the end of last year. The album was represented on the night with performances of “Family Tree”, “Bloody Knuckles”, and “Crosses”. They closed the night with “If You Can’t Hang” from Let’s Cheers to This.

There are few bands that are more dynamic live than Sleeping With Sirens and they proved this in Mobile. Fans who flocked to the Soul Kitchen were not disappointed. They were amped the whole night singing along with the band on almost every song. Kellin Quinn is one of the more charismatic frontmen who had the women in the crowd swooning all night.
