Savage Hands Rises to the Top with Latest EP

Savage Hands

Savage Hands is sharing its Rock Bottom EP with the world on April 7. The metalcore band from the Maryland / Virginia area is releasing the EP via SharpTone Records. They previously released the title track from the EP, as well as the single “Angel Dust”.

Like most bands, Savage Hands had to cancel their US tour in 2020 due to the pandemic. They put this downtime to good use by going into the studio to record Rock Bottom. Vocalist Michael Garrow says, “When people read the word ‘rock bottom,’ they typically associate it with something that’s super negative. In this sense, we’re using it as if it’s just where we come from. We come from a low point in the industry, as everyone else does… and we want to make it known that we’re proud of where we came from and we love the grind. It takes a lot to be a musician these days and we’re proud of the things we had to do and will continue to do to keep getting our music into new ears. It’s celebrating the small victories and respecting the long game.”

While researching the band, I came across a Facebook post that read “Not gonna lie I had never heard of you guys until I looked you up since you were gonna be with Attack Attack. I’m honestly looking forward to seeing you guys the most!!! I haven’t heard a single song by you guys I don’t like!!.” This perfectly sums up the band, especially their new EP. Every song is rock solid. For 14 minutes and 52 seconds, Savage Hand perfectly blends Garrow’s melodic vocals with the band’s intense metalcore rhythms. The vocals and music are balanced preventing one from overpowering the other.

After listening to Rock Bottom, Savage Hands made a quick entry onto my car playlist. I would highly recommend checking out the EP on April 7. For anyone near the Nashville area, the band will be playing an EP release show at The End on April 8. Tickets can be purchased here. They will also be hitting the road this summer supporting Attack Attack‘s The Dark Waves Tour. Tickets for the tour can be purchased here.
