Photos / Review: Silverstein and Tonight Alive Team Up to Take on Anaheim

Who: Silverstein, Tonight Alive, Broadside, Picturesque

Where: House of Blues, Anaheim, California

When: February 1, 2018

On February 1, 2018, the “Get Free Tour” made a stop at the House Of Blues in Anaheim, CA. The tour featured the bands Picturesque, Broadside, Tonight Alive and Silverstein.

The Get Free Tour is a Show that You Do Not Want to Miss!

Opening the show was Picturesque and they definitely did not disappoint. The band opened the show with “Waiting” from their debut album Back to Beautiful. They then went straight into a brand new song titled “Dead Flowers”. Picturesque added in some electronic elements to their set which made them stand out from the other bands on the bill. Having not been too familiar with the band I was really impressed with lead singer Kyle Hollis’ vocals. He sang some extremely high notes like it was no big deal. Right before the end, the band said that they were going to have to leave to shoot a music video. However, they still took the time to meet fans at the merch booth.

Make It Out Early to Check Out Broadside and Picturesque

Broadside was on after Picturesque and they played an even mix of songs from their two albums. They definitely had more of a classic pop-punk feel to them and they got the crowd pumped for Tonight Alive.

Australian Rockers in Tonight Alive Rocked Orange County

Tonight Alive took the stage not long after Broadside and played an energetic hour-long set. The opening song of the night was “How Does It Feel” from the album Limitless. The band bounced around a lot by playing songs from their newest album Underworld as well as their oldest album and everything in between. About halfway through their set, lead singer Jenna McDougall and bass guitarist Cam Adler sat down to play “Oxygen” acoustically. Playing this acoustically showed how versatile Jenna’s voice is. She was able to flawlessly switch between the high energy pop-punk driven songs of TA’s catalog to an acoustic track and right back again.

Tonight Alive Shows Love for Anaheim, California

Tonight Alive’s set was finished strong with the lead single from Underworld “Temple.” Tonight Alive had a lot of fun on stage and that helped keep the momentum of the night going.

Silverstein Rocks an Intimate Set at House of Blues Anaheim

Silverstein was up after Tonight Alive and I think it’s safe to say that everyone in the venue was very excited to see them play. Their set was 16 songs long and people were singing the whole entire time they played. Just as Tonight Alive did, Silverstein played a lofty mix of older classic songs and a new song from Dead Reflection, their newest album.

This is definitely a tour that you don’t want to miss.
