Photos / Review: Glass Animals take Pomona by storm

Who: Glass Animals, Jagwar Ma

Where: The Fox Theater, Pomona, California

When: April 18, 2017

Fox Theater Pomona transpired into a psychedelic dance party thanks to Coachella artists Glass Animals and Jagwar Ma. April 18 will forever be remembered as a night of funky beats, the swirl of a pineapple-shaped disco ball, and a singer whose sprained ankle did not stop him from showing off his funky moves.

The Party Between Both Coachella Weekend Dates

Glass Animals put on a great show for a weekday event, with frontman Dave Bayley bringing his well-known energy regardless of his sprained ankle (that he lightly joked about).

Leave it to songs like “Life Itself” and “Youth” from their newest album How to Be a Human Being to get every single person singing and dancing along with Bayley – Something very much noticed by the English group.

Glass Animals Played Both Old and New Songs from their Discography

The band also played classics like “Gooey” from their debut release Zaba before doing an encore set to “Pork Soda.” This was followed by Bayley throwing a real-life pineapple into the crowd; which is on the borderline of kind of dangerous, kind of rock n’ roll. From their “Pork Soda” themed set, to their contagious energy, Glass Animals is a must-see-live band that should be on any concert enthusiast’s list.

Jagwar Ma Supported Glass Animals this Night at the Fox Theater

Australian band Jagwar Ma opened up the night with songs “O B 1” and “Loose Ends” from their sophomore album, Every Now & Then. Their latest work revealing a new, grittier sound than their freshmen work, Howlin. They are a band to look out for, as they have set the bar even higher with their new album and live performance.
