Who: Dear Sense Tour – Louis The Child, R.LUM.R, NoMBe

Where: Palladium, Worcester, Massachusetts

When: November 17, 2018

On the North American leg of their Dear Sense Tour, EDM duo Louis The Child- comprised of members Robby Hauldren and Freddy Kennett -stopped in Worcester, MA and gave fans a show. Opening for the duo was artists R.LUM.R and NoMBe. R.LUM.R is an R&B singer-songwriter while NoMBe is an electric soul singer and composer/ producer. Both artists were successful in bringing energy to the crowd with their combinations of band, instruments, and stage presence.

Hot off their recent EP Kids At Play, Louis The Child had an abundance of new songs. Better Not, a song from Kids At Play which has amassed 74 million plays on Spotify, proved to be a crowd favorite. Also, they played older hits like Fire, Right To It, Love is Alive, and so on. Thrown into the mix, the duo played remixed versions of songs like Be Together by Major Lazer, Plug Walk by Rich The Kid, and All Night by Chance The Rapper.

On stage, the duo was elevated on a platform with lights spanning across the front of the stage. Throughout the show, the lights would pulsate and rotate, shining dozens of beams across the venue. The most noticeable component of the stage was probably the giant neon crown. Positioned in front of the duos mixing table, the crown- a favorite symbol of the two artists -acted as a centerpiece, changing colors throughout their set.

The duos stage presence, energy, and movements served to energize the crowd, who were jumping with the music. Hauldren further riled up the crowd with a short pump up speech and followed it by leaping off the DJ table in sync with the bass drop.

Overall, Louis The Child’s stop in Worcester proved to be an exciting show. With the group’s high energy music, stage presence, and elaborate design combined with solid openers, fans are advised to seize any opportunity to see them in concert.
