Concert Crap: Can you talk about how has your life changed since your album Reminder was released? Has this release been different from your previous two?

Yessi Burton: Our lives haven’t changed at all. We’ve been a hard working band before this release. The only thing that has changed is we are finally getting to see the reward of all the hard work we put into this album.

CC: The “My Eternity” video was a horror-themed epic.  Can you talk a little about that and are you planning on releasing any other videos to support the album?

YB: We wanted to do something of a tribute to 90s era horror films like “Scream” and “I Know What You Did Last Summer.”  The director who shot “My Eternity,” Jonathan Martin, is a gifted visionary. His short film, “An Evening With My Comatose Mother” is currently the most awarded horror short on YouTube.

The next video we release is going to be much different but still cinematic.  We are a very animated group so we feel the videos should reflect that.

CC: What are you hoping to accomplish on your current tour?

YB: Get through it without murdering each other. I think about it a lot sometimes while they’re asleep. But, at this point in my life, it would be difficult to find other musicians to play with.

CC: Are you hitting up markets you haven’t before?

YB: No. We’ve toured a lot over the years and have been to most of these places we’re playing. We have been playing some of the bigger venues we’ve always wanted to play though.  So that’s a cool thing for us.

CC: What are you hoping to accomplish following the tour?  What are your plans going forward?

After this tour, we have a lot of work to do on preparing for future tours. There’s always a lot of work to do and it seems to be speeding up as bigger opportunities come our way.

CC: Why should people care about Chrysalis?

YB: Because we’ve dedicated our lives to being a band that explores music a little further than many other bands. We go places musically that other bands are afraid to go. Listen to what is happening in the rock scene. Everything is so safe and caters to its own little brand. We pull against that and the result is what you hear on Reminder.

CC: Is there anything else you’d like to say to your fans or anyone else reading this interview right now?  Anything you haven’t spoken about in other interviews?

YB: Please pick up our latest album Reminder. If you’re an open minded listener and also a fan of rock/metal, I think you’ll love it!
