Venue: Amway Center
October 21st, 2022: It’s Friday night in a city where you can go to a Theme Park, go to City Walk, Disney Springs or simply bar hop in Downtown Orlando…or you can go see Gorillaz in concert!
Gorillaz front-man Damon Albarn brought his 2-D spectacle to life with a little help from some of his friends. When this tour was announced, it was said that Gorillaz would have some guest joining them for their set but did not disclose who in specific. Some of those guests consisted of: Bootie Brown, De La Soul, and Del The Funky Homosapien.
While this tour is the soft opening to their upcoming album Cracker Island, Gorillaz stlll busted out the hits such as “Last Living Souls” “Rhinestone Eyes” “On Melancholy Hill” and “Kids With Guns”. During their performance, you can see the visuals of all the 2-D Gorillaz characters we have known and loved all these years.
Closing out the set, Albarn and company played back-to-back hits along with their new song “New Gold”. Following “New Gold” was “Feel Good Inc” which featured De La Soul as guest vocals, followed by “Rock The House” and “Clint Eastwood”. Del The Funky Homosapien was the guest vocalist for the last 2 songs.
