Getting to know The World Over

Concert Crap: Can you talk about a brief history of the band?

Tiaday Ball: Sure! Starting in 2013, The World Over was founded in Los Angeles to promote messages of hope and empowerment by musicians all over. T.W.O. released their first EP Rampart District in 2014, collaborating with Omar Espinosa, former guitarist of Escape the Fate. In 2015, The World Over released a music video for their single “Eulogy” (recorded at Rockernaut Studios) as a follow up to the previous album. This year of 2016, the new EP (Mountains) was recorded & produced by Siegfried Meier (Kitty, DMX) at Beach Road Studios in Toronto, Canada. The band has been playing countless shows sharing the stage with Attila, As Blood Runs Black, Meytal Cohen, The Browning, and many others.

CC: What does your band name mean?

TB: Our original lineup had consisted of band members from all over (France, Hawaii, Massachusetts, Connecticut), so we really wanted to have a name that could represent our diverse cultures. ‘The World Over’ just felt right and even though our most diverse member couldn’t remain in the band, it still holds true to us in other ways and continuity is important. We will take The World Over one fan at a time!

CC: Who are some of your musical inspirations?

TB: Personally, P!nk has been one of my idols since I can remember. I’ve always loved her confident rock “don’t-give-a-f*ck” attitude and her incredible raspy tone and range. I’ve always strived for that. Although she is not a screamer, a lot of bands I grew up listening to would have screaming here and there in their songs. I had a lot of rage growing up so I started to scream too and here I am now. Haha. As for Ryan, his main influences come from many different genres and worlds of music such as Periphery to even Kimbra or Guthrie Govan. Skrillex has influenced Donovan because of his rise of fame and his ambition as an artist.

CC: Who would you like to tour with realistically and un realistically?

TB: We set our goals high, so we don’t really believe that there is an ‘unrealistic’ tour for us. But ideally we would like to tour with acts like Twenty One Pilots, Bring Me The Horizon or PVRIS.

CC: What does the rest of 2016 have in store for you guys?

TB: We will be releasing an acoustic version(s) of one or more songs off the MOUNTAINS album before our December tour (dates TBA soon)! We will also be releasing a music video in the new year so stay tuned for that! You can stay updated on our future endeavors at any of these links:
