Festival Announcement: Musink Festival 2018 to feature Blink 182, Lil Yachty, Descendents, The Fever and more

Musink 2018

KROQ and critically acclaimed blink 182 drummer Travis Barker, were set to announce the 2018 lineup for Barker’s tattoo and punk rock Orange County festival on Monday. However, an anonymous source hsd leaked the official lineup before the announcement official Monday morning. Fans of punk rock and hip-hop will be thrilled for the 2018 installment of Musink.

Punk Meets Hip Hop at the 2018 Musink Tattoo and Arts Festival Featuring blink 182, Descendents, Lil Yachty, Machine Gun Kelly and More

Musink has always been a melting pot of alternative culture in Costa Mesa, however, the lineup for this year’s festival couldn’t be a truer testament to this diversity.

Over the course of the Musink weekend, prominent acts from the genres of punk and hip-hop will take the stage and make it a weekend to remember in Orange County.

As can be seen in the flyer, acts to take the stage include Descendents, Strung Out, Adolescents, blink 182, Lil Yatchy, Machine Gun Kelly and The Fever 333.

What Can Be Expected of Musink 2018 in Costa Mesa, California?

Not much else is known aside from the flyer above. Fans can expect to get an official announcement this Monday from Musink’s social media channels and The World Famous KROQ.

It is safe to say that fans and attendants alike can still expect the same culture and talented tattoo artists that have graced the festivals in the years prior.

In addition, we hope and expect to see a lot of collaboration with the artists that are playing the festival.

It is a fact that Travis Barker performed with The Fever at their first official show at The Roxy in West Hollywood back in August. In addition, the band has also shared that they have been working with Barker and Goldfinger frontman, John Feldman, on more unreleased material.

Also, blink 182 and Machine Gun Kelly have collaborated multiple times in the past with the most recent memorial of the late Chester Bennington of Linkin Park.

The section of the flyer under blink 182 says “Support” and “Another Band.” With this in mind, it is also safe to say that there will an additional announcement in the near future that may announce additional and prestigious acts performing at Musink 2018 in Orange County.

One last thing to note is that the flyer says “blink 182” and not “blink 182 with Matt Skiba.” Although there is no real reason to assume blink 182 and Alkaline Trio frontman Matt Skiba will not be attending nor performing at the festival, the possibility of former blink 182 frontman Tom Delonge rejoining the band is not too far-fetched of an idea.

Between alien conspiracies, Angels and Airwaves and his other multimedia side projects, Delonge has teased numerous times in the past that him and Barker have communicated in the past about blink 182 matters. In addition, Delonge has made it apparent that he still cares about the band that he started as well as the well-being of its members.

To add to this theory, Skiba has been working non-stop with both of his bands since joining blink 182. Skiba will be busy the weeks prior to the festival as Alkaline Trio have recently been announced as one of the prominent acts of A Day to Remember’s festival, Self Help Fest.

One last thing to note is that the last time blink 182 played Musink, they made it a point to add Skiba’s name to the bill (just like Sublime is now “Sublime With Rome.) On this flyer, it just says blink 182 and can mean one of two things: blink 182 have officially and legally made Skiba a permanent member of the band OR Delonge is finally returning to blink 182 with his first show back at Musink 2018.

One thing is for sure and that is that we will all know more when Barker and the festival go public with the festival’s details this Monday.
