Concert Crap: How excited are you for your upcoming fall tour with Leprous, Binary and Dissona?

Frank Sacramone: We are very excited to play on this tour! I am particularly excited to travel the US and Canada in the best time of year (fall) with some great musicians. We are very happy to be reuniting with Leprous since our Spring tour with them in Europe!

CC: Which city or venue are you most excited to play?

FS: I am actually the most excited about traveling to Canada. I’ve been to Montreal in the winter once, but now I’ll get to see much more, such as the beauty of Quebec City! I’m also excited to play NYC because I have so many friends there that have never seen Earthside play, and they can finally watch our live set. I’ve also had some history living in the city and going to shows at Webster Hall so it’ll be exciting to have that city vibe at the show!

CC: Are you working on new material for your follow up to A Dream in Static?

FS: Yes, we have started writing songs as a group and individually. I can say that you can continue to expect a diverse arrangement of music from us, exploring even more instruments and texture that were not heard on the last record.

CC: How do you progress from your debut album while trying to avoid a sophomore slump?

FS: To be honest, I don’t think we’ll have a sophomore slump for a few reasons: First, we are not beholden to anyone to make this record; it will be our complete creative vision. Second, we write about our realities and how we feel in life. Each Earthside song is an authentic account of our feelings and philosophies. In that way, our music won’t sound forced.

We continue to scrutinize every detail of our compositional and arrangement process, and because we are continuing to do that, I don’t think we’ll be heading into a sophomore slump!

CC: What has been the best thing to happen to you in 2016?

FS: Personally, I would say getting to go back to Europe, especially Sweden. I always get so happy when I’m there, it feels like home to me.

CC: What does the rest of 2016 have in store for Earthside?

FS: After the North American Leprous tour we will head back into creative mode to work on album #2, along with strategizing on how to further the reach of our music. We will also be releasing a music video soon for the title track “A Dream in Static,” so look out for that!

CC: Is there anything else you’d like to say to your fans or anyone reading this interview?

FS: I am so thankful and excited to share our music with you all on this upcoming tour. Things get really personal for me on stage, seeing everyone out there coming to support music…I even cried during our set in London because of how beautiful that moment was, hah. I hope to see you all on the road!
