Concert Crap: Can you talk about a brief history of the band?

Chanel Martins: The band was formed in January 2014 by Jiv and Elle, through a program at a music school they were both attending. They ran through a rigorous process of lineup switches over the next year, with our bassist Russ joining in July, our first guitarist Adam joining in January 2015, and drummer Matt joining in February 2015.

We recorded a four track EP between April and June 2015 and toured that album heavily over the summer and fall. Nick replaced Adam in January 2016 and we began work on our second album, while still maintaining a presence on the live circuit and online.

CC: What does your band name mean?

CM: It doesn’t mean anything specifically but we definitely have a dark element to our music and we feel the crow represents us as a group.

CC: Who are some of your musical inspirations?

CM: Halestorm, Disturbed, Slipknot and more.

CC: Who would you like to tour with realistically and un realistically?

CM: Realistically, Odd Ones and unrealistically, Disturbed.

CC: What does the rest of 2016 have in store for you guys?

CM: September 25th we’re opening up for Russian band, Arkona, at the Atria and October 9th we’re playing our buddy’s birthday party at the Nocturne. We’ll also be working on our album and aiming to release it at the end of the year!

CC: Is there anything else you’d like to say to your fans or anyone that may be reading this interview at all?

CM: We love you! Thanks for following us and if you’re not, check us out here:
