Concert Review l Photos – ’68 in Madison, Wisconson

It’s been a year and a half since I have had the chance to go to a concert and ’68 was to perfect band to get back into the groove of things. I’ve only ever seen them as an opening act, so I was really excited to see them headlining at The Annex in Madison, Wisconsin. For anyone who has ever seen a ’68 show, you already know that there are few bands that are as energetic as this duo is, and if you haven’t seen them yet, wow you are missing out on an incredible experience.

The Annex is the type of venue with a stage that’s only 2 feet tall and Josh Scogin and Nikko Yamada set themselves up right at the edge of the stage within arms reach of their fans. They started off with their usual high energy in your face wall of sound and except for some breaks to interact with the fans between songs, they didn’t let up during their entire hour-long set. They played a solid mixture of newer songs like The Knife, The Knife, The Knife off of their most recent album Give One Take One, and older songs like Whether Terrified or Unafraid. They even treated the crowd to some new songs that they’re working on. The only thing I could have hoped for from them that night was for them to play even longer, but for a band as wild as them, I really can’t blame them. They gave us their all in that hour. It always amazes me how much energy two guys can display on stage. If ’68 ever comes through your area, do not hesitate to see them.
