Big Time Rush Stops by Virginia Beach on Their ‘Can’t Get Enough’ Tour!

Pop boyband Big Time Rush has embarked on a headline tour across the US this summer following their comeback as a group a couple years ago. Most known for their Nickelodeon show in the early 2010s, BTR had captured the hearts of fans way back then and still managed to keep them over a decade later! The crowd eagerly streamed into the venue as doors opened, filling up the seats and waiting with blatant anticipation to be shown the night of their lives!

JAX opened up the show, and it was an electric performance! Starting off her set with her song “90s Kids” you can bet that all the fellow 90s kids in the crowd were hyped up and enjoying the relatable lyrics! She was able to get the audience loose and dancing right off the bat with her high energy, especially when she covered “Teenage Dirtbag” by Wheetus. She closed out her set with her hit song, “Victoria’s Secret” and even jumped into the crowd at the end to sing up close with her fans!

Next up onstage was MAX! Right off the bat he was full of energy, bouncing and dancing all across the stage! He started off his set with “Love Me Less” and went right into “Holla“, remixing it “Drop It Like It’s Hot” which made the crowd go wild. And MAX wasn’t the only one onstage full of energy, as his band was grooving right alongside him, especially his saxophonist! Nearing the end of his set, he slowed it down with his hit song “Lights Down Low“. Ironically, even though the title suggests otherwise, he encouraged the crowd to get their phone lights out and wave them around, lighting up the whole venue like stars. He finished up his set with “Mug Shot“, impressing the crowd with his vocals and getting them to jump all around!

And finally, it was time for the band everyone had been waiting for! The lights went down and ambient music played as Big Time Rush rose up to the stage from a hidden platform, silhouetted by the lights behind them as the crowd went absolutely wild! They launched right into “Can’t Get Enough” as they navigated down the steps onstage, and transitioned into “Elevate” after that. The audience was immediately dancing and singing along with them; the band’s infection energy reflecting in the sheer excitement of the crowd.

The fans loved how interactive BTR was with them. Not only were they constantly looking out into the crowd, pointing out signs and singing directly to the fans, but they even went out into the crowd a couple times throughout the set. You could tell all the people in the back were hyped to be able to see them up close and high five them or give them hugs as they ran through the crowd. One of the most special moments, however, was during their song “Worldwide“. They invited up four different fans up onstage; some had made signs to get noticed, and one had even given James a bracelet during the M&G earlier in hopes of being called up onstage, and it worked! The band sang to them and it was very heartwarming to watch.

They really brought back the old boyband feel, with their voices harmonizing perfectly and their choreography elevating the entire performance as there was always something fun to watch onstage! Not only that, but their bantering was reminiscent of their old TV show, surely making all the old school fans sentimental. All good things must come to an end, but as they were about to leave for the encore, they ran back out and performed the theme song “Big Time Rush” from their show, which had every single person in the venue going absolutely nuts! They then actually left for the encore, and then closed out the show with “Windows Down“, “Boyfriend“, and “Til I Forget About You“! It was an unforgettable night, and every fan left the venue that night with huge smiles on their faces.
