80’s fans get ready for a treat. Crowded House, one of the decade’s top bands, is set to stream Crowed House: Live from the Island on Saturday, June 12th at 2:00 PM PDT / 5:00 PM EDT / 10:00 PM BST / 11:00 PM CEST. The concert was filmed in March 2021 at the Spark Arena in Auckland, New Zealand. Founding band members Neil Finn and Nick Seymour were joined by new members Mitchell Froom, Liam Finn and Elroy Finn.
The band which was formed in Melbourne, Australia in 1984 is known for their iconic hits “Don’t Dream It’s Over” and “Something So Strong”. After a 10-year hiatus, they have recorded a new album, Dreamers Are Waiting, which is due out June 4th. Live From island features the band playing songs from the new album along with others spanning their career including “Mean To Me”, “World Where You Live”, as well the afore mentioned “Don’t Dream It’s over” and “Something So Strong.”
“We were truly blessed to be able to play 12 real live gigs in New Zealand, the band together after a year of lockdown, sensing the occasion and playing as if everything was brand new and full of wonder,” says Neil Finn. “We can’t wait to share this beautifully captured performance from Auckland with our fans around the world in anticipation of being on the stage for them in person once again.”
