The Menzingers just have this soulful, homey vibe to them that just drives me to a state of peacefulness when listening to them. I first stumbled upon The Menzingers when I heard a song from their 2019 full-length album “Hello Exile” and I fell in love instantly. The instrumentals and unique vocals really stand out in the entire album, and their song “Anna” is actually one of the reasons I began to pick the guitar back up (I’m a total beginner, don’t be impressed).
The entire “Hello Exile” album is such a vibe, it just gives me this sense of safety and I really can connect with a lot of the lyrics throughout the album. The band of course has several albums before Hello Exile, this is just the album that got me started so I’m a bit biased on my favorite record from their discography.
Songs to check out are “Strangers Forever”, “Hello Exile”, and “Strain Your Memory”.
I suppose it’s time for me to go listen to their other albums a bit more now, but only after a play-through of Hello Exile first. 😉
