After close to a four year wait, hard rock band Eve To Adam released their new album, Odyssey February 20. This four-piece group comes from Queens, NY. This album is their latest release since Locked & Loaded in 2013.
The first track on the album is “Altitude.” It begins with a short build up, before launching into a smooth introduction, soon to be accompanied by Taki Sassaris’ vocals. The chorus is one that is easy to sing along to. The song ends with the repetition of the line “I’m so far away, that I can’t feel the pain.”
The next track is “Tongue Tied,” which is one of the first songs the band released off the album. It is also the name of their current tour that’s wrapping up in just a couple of days. This is a catchy song that immediately draws people in from the first time they listen to it, leaving them wanting more.
“Lucky” is one of those songs that makes you want to move as soon as it comes on. This is one of my favorite songs on the album, and I kept wanting to listen to it after the first play. It’s a fast paced song that is perfect for a live show. “Day Drinking”, the last song on the album, opens up with guitars that drag you in, then continues with a steady beat to keep your attention. Sassaris’ vocals on this song are particularly powerful.
Odyssey is a great follow-up to Eve To Adam’s last album. The band managed to find a way to evolve while still retaining their original sound. Longtime fans of the band are sure to love this long-awaited record.
