8 Artists You Need to See at the KAABOO Music Festival 2018

KAABOO DEL MAR

KAABOO Music Festival kicks off another year in Del Mar, California this September. A three-day, festival experience as they bring back the 90’s, rock-and-roll, and adding taste-making indulgences into a modern wonderland! This year’s 2018 headline acts include major names like Katy Perry, Foo Fighters, Halsey, Post Malone, and Imagine Dragons and more. If you plan on attending, here are some more artists to look out for:

VISTA KICKS

If you were looking for the modern day Beatles, look no further than these guys. Vista Kicks are a group of 4 life-long friends from Northern-California who grew up listening to musical influences such as ACDC, The Beatles, and Michael Jackson, to name a few. They like to call their style “Booty Shakin Rock N’ Roll” and recently toured the U.S. for the release of their full-length album “Booty Shakers Ball.” Get groovy and go see these guys perform on Sunday’s date KAABOO.

JIMMY EAT WORLD

Everyone who grew up in the emo/ pop-punk/ alternative-rock generation knows Jimmy Eat World! With popular hits such as “Sweetness” and “The Middle,” it’s no doubt that these guys will steal the spotlight at KAABOO this year. Formed in Mesa, Arizona in 1993, the band is composed of lead vocalist and guitarist Jim Adkins, rhythm guitarist and vocalist Tim Linton, drummer Zach Lind, and bassist Rick Burch. Don’t miss these guys shred at the Friday date!

FITNESS

Just because their name is hard to search online doesn’t stop this dynamic duo from standing out from the rest. Fitness features Eve 6’s Max Collins and Ex-Awolnation’s Kenny Carkeet. The two came together less than 2 years ago with the goal of writing music for no one else but themselves. Think of their music as a middle finger to the industry’s expectations. With debut singles such as “Supafeeler” and “Get Dead,” it is evident that Fitness takes pride in different than most. Catch them on Saturday’s date.

THE All-AMERICAN REJECTS

This group achieved mainstream success back in 2003 with their debut self-titled album, The All-American Rejects and have been killing the game ever since. Producing hits like “Dirty Little Secret,” “Move Along,” and “It Ends Tonight,” I think they will be the most anticipated band to see this year at KAABOO. Channel your angsty teenage phase and don’t miss them perform Sunday’s date!

EVERCLEAR

If you were born in the late 80’s – early 90’s, you will remember some of Everclear‘s hit classics like “Santa Monica” and “Father of Mine”. We are super excited to see that KAABOO is bringing back some of the best bands from this era. Reminisce the good old days and catch them playing on Friday!

MELISSA ETHERIDGE

Another artist that blew up in the 90s, with hit-classics like “Come To My Window” and “I’m The Only One”. Melissa Etheridge’s sound is a cross between the blues and rock n’ roll. Catch Melissa Etheridge on Saturday, Day-2 at the Trestles Stage!

INCUBUS

Now at #7, we have Incubus. One of my (Taleen’s) all-time favorite bands and have seen Brandon Boyd perform multiple times, and yet, never ceases to amaze me! Definitely an artist to catch at KAABOO and one to make your way in the center and soak in the memorable experience! Below is one of my favorite tracks, “Stellar” off of his 1999 album, Make Yourself.

ROBERT PLANT

Our last choice was hard to make, it was a battle between Billy Idol or Robert Plant. Both icons that have marked their spot in each scene as Billy Idol dominated the punk, glam-rock scene and Robert Plant in rock. Well, we chose and it’s Robert Plant. Reason 1: Guitar Solos. Reason 2: His live performance is better than his record. Reason 3: Knows how to set the mood on stage. Catch him on Sunday!
