Emo rock band Tiny Stills released their latest song, “Bleeding Out”, and accompanying music video on March 18th. The band comprised of Kailynn West (Vocals, Rhythm Guitar), Chris Clark (Bass), Mike Diggs (Drums), and AJ Peacox (Lead Guitar) was formed in Los Angeles in 2013. The song was produced by Mike Pepe who previously worked with bands such as Taking Back Sunday, Bayside, Silverstein, and Sick Puppies.
Since the 1980’s each decade has brought a new generation of emo artists. The genre reached its peak in the 2000’s with bands like Chemical Romance, Taking Back Sunday and Dashboard Confessional. People either love it or wish it would just go away. Emo haters are out of luck because 5th wave bands including Tiny Stills are helping to keep the genre alive.
“’Bleeding Out’ is our anti-fuck boy anthem,” the band shares. “FBI stands for ‘Fuck Boy Investigators’ and we’re here to let them know they’re not going to get away with it anymore.”
They elaborate: “This is a song about reclaiming your power after a toxic relationship. Our video is basically a mashup of Beastie Boys’ “Sabotage” and “Silence of the Lambs” because isn’t that the emotional essence we experience at the end of a bad relationship anyway? A fierce power and rebirth? Or just chaos- either way it just felt right. John Lafirira and Justin Nelson were the brains behind the mashup and we love how it came out.”
Tiny Stills will be doing a short four-city tour the week of 3/20/22 with stops in San Diego, Fullerton, Los Angeles, and Tucson. Tickets can be purchased here.
