Venue: MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre at the FL State Fairgrounds

July 13th, 2022: For a moment there we were a bit nervous if the show was going to still happen, as the storms got pretty bad. At one point there was torrential downpour along with thunder and lighting. However mother nature was kind to us and only slightly delayed the beginning of the show.

Opening up for Coheed and Cambria was Oklahoma City originated, Mothica. I personally never heard of them prior to the show, but after seeing their set, I am highly interested in hearing more of them. They had a simple yet fulfilling stage presence.

Following up to Mothica is Alkaline Trio. This is a band I have heard of however never took the time to listen to entirely. But their set was entertaining to listen to and watch. It is funny because I am used to seeing Matt Skiba in Blink-182 at this point, so to see him in his original band was interesting to me. They had a few hiccups in their set here and there but it was entertaining to watch overall. They certainty got the crowd going during the duration of their set.

Finally, Coheed and Cambria hit the stage. Kicking off the set with their Prologue track followed by their 2018 hit “The Dark Sentencer”. Even on a Wednesday night, everyone in attendance was on amplified spirits! Coheed and Cambria’s stage design looked something straight out of a sci-fi movie, with a giant alien looking head taking up the back center (Behind the drummer), and LED screens that created crazy visuals and atmospheres. They played tracks from their first album The Second Stage Turbine Blade all the way to their latest album Vaxis II: A Window of The Waking Mind. They concluded the set with their most notably known song (And to those who played Rock Band) “Welcome Home
