Every Summer, Warped Tour makes its way across the United States bringing bands to music fans. Besides the bands that are on the tour, there’s also vendors to check out and a lot of awesome non-profits. One of those non-profits is called The Canvas Foundation, whose mission is to raise support for underfunded art programs in public schools.

Canvas goes around to schools and events with giant canvas’s and for a small donation they give out paint and brushes. Once you get your paint and brushes, you are free to express yourself on the canvas anyway you want. All the donations then go directly to a school that has a program that is suffering. The money helps purchase the supplies necessary to for art programs at schools.

If you visit the Canvas tent at Warped be prepared to have fun. You can get unlimited paint and come back to the tent throughout the day and paint yourself. Your clothes will most likely get paint on them but you’ll look so cool it wont matter.

I was fortunate enough to go to schools that had art programs and classes that I could take. Some kids don’t have the opportunity but it’s important to be able to give them the chance. If you’re heading to a date on Warped this Summer, make sure you stop by and donate and paint some stuff.
