The American Hotel System Release "Tripping" Single

Grand Rapids, MI rock band The American Hotel System released their “Tripping” single on July 14 via SONO Music. The band comprised of Jacob Betts (lead vox & guitar), Hailey Petty (drums), Jake LaMotte (bass), CT McCallister (lead guitar) and Samuel Overman (guitar) was formed in 2017.

Shortly after forming The American Hotel System released its debut EP A Search for Sunken Truth, Vol. 1 in 2018. This was followed by another EP A Search for Sunken Truth, Vol. 2 in 2019 and their debut album The Sunken Truth later that same year. In 2022 after nearly two years of setbacks and delays, the band shared their sophomore concept album Interrobang.

Speaking about “Tripping, lead vocalist/guitarist Jacob Betts shared: “I believe we all experience pushes and pulls in life—events from our past that propel us forward and aspirations for the future that draw us toward tomorrow. As I progress in therapy, the pain from my past has become a source of joy, pushing me forward even during the darkest moments when I feel like I’m falling…that is at the heart of ‘Tripping’.”
