Alternative pop musician Makena recently released a new song called “3 am”. It marks the first single of a series that Makena plans on releasing throughout the rest of the year.
“3 am” starts off with bunch of different sounds, each created by a different instrument. There’s a marimba which is the most prominent and is heard throughout. All those other instruments that were previously heard make little appearances and make the song really fun.
While there’s a Summer feel to the song, it deals with a dark subject matter – a drug and alcohol driven relationship. You can hear the story of the couple and how the drugs and alcohol affect them.
Makena is someone that you should pay attention to, “3 am” is a very catchy fun tune. With more singles on the way, it’ll be cool to hear what else Makena has up her sleeve.
