On Thursday night The Del Mar Fairgrounds had there soft-opening for San Diego’s newest venue, The Sound, operated by Belly Up Entertainment. With fellow music industry peeps gathered for a night of appetizers and wine, the happy chatter of a new venue filled the gorgeous atmosphere as local bands and DJ’s provided entertainment.
The new 17 million dollar facility is a generous 9,500 square feet in total which includes an upper level deck, 5 bars, a 43 feet wide & 32 feet deep stage, plenty of parking and a prime location near the beach!
With venues in San Diego lacking in various sizes, The Sound will be perfect for artists whose following isn’t enough to fill spots like North Coast Amphitheater in Chula Vista but who have outgrown The Belly Up in Solana Beach and others alike. With all-ages permitted and big-name artists such as Steve-Aoki, Ziggy Marley and The Flaming Lips already booked, this venue is sure to bring more unique artists to Southern California! The music scene in San Diego is sure to become more vibrant and eclectic all thanks to this awesome and very necessary new spot! First concert is on February 3 so we’re wishing them a smooth first night and continued success in the future!
