Sam Smith Shines on Night One in LA of GLORIA the Tour

The Kia Forum rumbled with a welcoming roar as Sam Smith took the stage for night one of two in Los Angeles on August 31. GLORIA the Tour boasted Jesse Reyez as the supporting artist, which fans absolutely adored. Sam emerged in a stunning corset alongside a talented live band and backup singers as the stage glowed upon their entrance. They belted out hits like “Stay With Me,” “Too Good At Goodbyes,” and “I’m Not The Only One” along with many other fan favorites.

The striking stage production spoke for itself — a gold statue of a woman stretched across the stage, adding a vibrantly warm aura. This elegant piece served as a visual anchor for the entire show, adding an extra layer of sultriness to the evening. The lighting design was a work of art in itself, complementing Sam’s every move. Of course, it wouldn’t be a Sam Smith concert without a montage of glamour. Throughout the night, Smith dazzled the audience with a series of breathtaking outfit changes, each one more extravagant than the last. Full of curves, sparkle and shine, Sam shimmered as the spotlight shown down.

One of the most memorable aspects that stood out was Sam’s gleaming smile and happy disposition. It was evident that they were genuinely enjoying every moment on stage — their joy: infectious. The positive energy radiating from the stage created a united atmosphere amongst the audience. Sam’s commitment to promoting self-acceptance and individuality has been another key factor in the success of their career. Their confidence beams out straight to their fans, bringing everyone closer as they experienced the show together. The night wrapped with a “surprise” appearance from Kim Petras to accompany Sam with “Unholy” followed by their encore of the highly anticipated track “Vulgar.”
