Dark pop-rock band RIVALS just announced their upcoming album, Sad Looks Pretty on Me, which is scheduled for a March 19, 2021 release date on Smartpunk Records. The sophomore album is a follow-up to the band’s debut album Damned Soul which was released in 2018. The Los Angeles based band was formed in 2014 by current members Kalie Wolfe (vocals), Sebastian Clarke (bass), Micket Woodle (guitars), and Josh Alves (drums).  They have toured extensively with the likes of Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, New Years Day and Tilian Pearson of Dance Gavin Dance.

The band started gaining attention after the release of their 2015 debut EP, Haunted Hunted.  Their 2016 guitar heavy cover of Twenty One Pilot’s “Heathens” amassed over 1,000,000 streams.  The band’s popularity increased with Damned Soul receiving over 5,000,000 listens.

RIVALS previously released the songs “Fake Rich (feat. Elijah Witt)”, “Strawberries”, and “Lavenders” from the upcoming album. “Sad Looks Pretty on Me” is the album’s latest single. The song displays both the pop and rock side of the band. Check out the video for the song below.
