Review: Bianca Ryan Blossoms with I Wish That Single

Bianca Ryan

Bianca Ryan has released her new song “I Wish That”.  The 27-year-old singer, who was the winner of the first season of America’s Got Talent, previously recorded the song for her 2006 debut album Bianca Ryan. The song was written by Diane Warren who is best known for writing hits such as “Power of Love” by Celine Dion and “Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing” Aerosmith.

In 2019 Ryan appeared on America’s Got Talent The Championsa spin off which brought back previous winners and finalists from the original show. She performed an emotional and dynamic rendition of Say Something bringing all 4 judges to their feet. Simon Cowell gave her a double thumbs up and commented “I think without you we may not have been sitting here today” and “That’s what we call a moment”. She announced that night that she went through 2 vocal surgeries and had to completely relearn how to sing all over again due to a virus that left her vocal cord paralyzed.

Speaking of her new single Ryan says “I hope you all enjoy this piece of history and it was so much fun re-recording this song over 10 years later! I would like to dedicate this song to Ukraine with love. I hope this message can spread a light, 10 years later, and please let it be a lesson that there’s more work to do in this world. Thank you Diane Warren for writing such a beautiful song.”

The 2006 version of “I Wish That” by a 12-year-old Ryan was a glimpse of what was to become.  Her talent was like a bud with its full potential not yet revealed. Now 16 years later the bud has bloomed into a radiant blossom. The young girl with a twinkle in her eyes is now a full-grown woman with soul and emotion bursting from her lungs. While the original song was adorable and sweet, the new version is passionate and powerful. She has given it new life which should make Diane Warren proud.

I Wish That” is available on Spotify and Apple Music. For more on Bianca, check out the sites below.
