Who: Marina
Where: Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall, Portland, Oregon
When: October 7, 2019
After the release of her double album Love + Fear, Marina (formerly known as Marina and the Diamonds) returns to the stage in one of music’s most anticipated and favorite comebacks of 2019.
Marina explained her show, and the Love + Fear Tour, mirrored her double album. She carefully picked her setlist and separated her show into the two parts of love, and fear. The result was absolutely spectacular. Center stage was a large platform for Marina and her dancers to stand upon, behind them was a large screen which projected awe striking visuals and scenes from her music videos, and of course front and center stealing the breath of everyone in Portland was Marina and her astounding voice.
Portland had been anticipating this night for some time, obvious to Marina who even commented she wasn’t expecting such a lively crowd on a Monday night. Fans sang, danced and were emotional throughout the performance as Marina weaved through her crafted setlist of songs new and old. To Marina’s excitement, fans gave equal love and ovations to their favorite tracks new and old. It’s clear that through whichever creative path Marina chooses, her devoted fans will support her art and music.
