Who: Gin Wigmore
Where: Wonder Ballroom, Portland, Oregon
When: June 23, 2018
The New Zealand singer/songwriter, Gin Wigmore, is now on tour through the states for her latest album, Ivory. Being an artist, activist, skater and new mother, Wigmore channels influence through all aspects of her life to create her dynamic music, and her project #GIRLGANG. #GIRLGANG is a project designed to highlight and celebrate fellow women and find a new way to experience music through a variety of artistic formats.
Gin Wigmore’s performance, and especially her voice, are unique and distinct. The second she steps onto the stage following her band she is all smiles and grateful to the fans that came out, and she throws her head back to belt out her lyrics. Her range, voice cracks, and throaty tone further the emotion behind her lyrics. The authenticity and realness that lives in her voice bring a new meaning to her music.
With four albums out her set was incredibly well balanced, with each album represented equally. Wigmore was sure to put together a set that all fans, new and old, could enjoy.
