Photos / Review: Fates Warning, Infinite Spectrum and Divine Regale at Brighton Music Hall

Who: Fates Warning, Infinite Spectrum, Divine Regale

Where: Brighton Music Hall, Allston, Massachusetts

When: July 1, 2017

Brighton Music Hall is a nice venue. It’s kind of small and cozy and feels like a sports bar. There’s no barrier between you and the stage, so you’re right up there in front of the musicians. Being so close up to your fans can be quite the challenge, but Fates Warning, Infinite Spectrum, and Divine Regale rose to the occasion and delivered a fun show.

Divine Regale opened the show. They knew several of the people in the audience and connected with the ones they didn’t know really well. Their set was short but very energetic and a lot of fun. It was a shame that the venue was pretty empty for their set, as they should have had a bigger audience.

Infinite Spectrum went on next and they actually ended up being my favorite band of the night. The audience was a little bit fuller by now, so they had more people to impress, which they definitely did. They had great energy and a lot of presence. During the last song of their set, the vocalist actually went off stage and let the rest of the band do their own thing, which was amazing. Each one got a chance to show off on their own and you got to see just how talented each one of them are.  They were a really great band to watch.

Fates Warning’s appearance on stage was highly anticipated by the audience. Throughout the other bands’ sets, we could actually see the band members looking down from the green room, so the anticipation was very noticeably building. They came out to an audience that knew every single song and was singing along. This was their last show before they go off on their Europe tour and it definitely was a great send-off.
