Photos / Review: Deftones, Thrice and Frank Iero rock “The Strip”

Deftones and Rise Against wrapped up their summer co-headliner Saturday with the second to last date of the tour in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Thousands of Fans Traveled to Las Vegas to See Deftones and Rise Against

Thousands of fans flocked to the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center to witness this incredible lineup in action. This tour did not have a Los Angeles date, and with that said, many LA native migrated to the desert to catch this show.

Frank Iero and the Patience (ex-My Chemical Romance) started the Las Vegas show off with some emotional hard rock. The band captivated the audience of the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center and appealed to both dedicated My Chemical Romance fans as well as first time listeners.

Thrice was next to take the stage. The Orange County based alternative rock band took the mood of the night in a more melodic direction.

Thrice’s fan base grew up knowing the band with their heavier songs from The Illusion of Safety and The Artist in the Ambulance, however, Thrice’s set this Saturday contained many of their softer songs from their recent releases.

The band did play Silhouette from the album The Artist in the Ambulance, but even still, the band played a phenomenal set that comprised of songs from Beggars, Major/Minor and To Be Everywhere is to Be Nowhere and blew the Las Vegas crowd away.

Deftones and Rise Against’s Summer Co-Headliner Concludes in Las Vegas

Deftones took the stage and blew the audience away with songs from their discography that ranged from their debut release, Adrenaline, to their most recent release, Gore.

Lead vocalist, Chino Moreno, was not afraid to interact with the crowd. On multiple occasions, the frontman jumped off the stage, walked up to the barrier and lent the microphone to any of the Las Vegas natives that knew the lyrics to Deftones’ songs.

It was an incredible night to say the least and it appears that all the bands on this bill have big plans for the rest of the year.
