Photos / Review: Bishop Briggs in Portland, Oregon

Who: Bishop Briggs

Where: Crystal Ballroom in Portland, Oregon

When: April 29, 2018

Bishop Briggs brings her tour, and highly anticipated debut album, to a sold out crowd in Portland, Oregon. The audience packed the venue early, sang and screamed along, and kept their arms up throughout the entire set.

After performing her song “Wild Horses,” Briggs’ paused to take a moment out of her set to address her crowd. “Portland. The last time I was here, you were the rowdiest city on the tour. And we’re only TWO songs in, and you’ve already outdone yourselves.” Looking at the crowd, and seeing the number of people with VIP lanyards around their neck, holding merchandise they had purchased, and the number of girls with Briggs’ signature buns, it’s obvious Portland has a love and devotion for the artist.

Touring only off her debut album, Bishop Briggs’ 14 song set consisted of Church of Scars in its entirety, as well as a few select treats for the audience. Briggs’ also performed the tracks “The Fire” and “The Way I Do” off her self-titled EP, her cover of The XX’s “Never Tear Us Apart”, and a version of her unreleased song “Baby.”
