On February 24, You Me At Six came to the 9:30 Club in Washington, DC. It’s been years since this English band had come to the US, and they brought Dreamers and Machineheart with them on this Sunday night.
You Me At Six opened their set with “Fast Forward,” and everybody immediately began singing along. Throughout their whole set, the band interacted with the crowd, grabbing fans’ hands and giving them high-fives. Although a good chunk of their songs were off of their newest album, VI, You Me At Six’s set covered a lot of their discography. During “Take on the World,” the crowd lit up the room with lighters and cell phone flashlights. A couple of songs later, a circle pit broke out during “Bite My Tongue.” After that, You Me At Six momentarily left the stage but came back for a four-song encore. The night ended with “Underdog,” with vocalist Josh Franceschi jumping around the crowd with all of the fans.
You Me At Six is one of those bands that are so fun to watch when they perform. Every member worked well together, and they’re a great live band. If you ever get the chance to see them, make sure you take it.
