Photos l Review: Parkway Drive Closes Headline Tour in Hollywood

Australian heavy-weights in Parkway Drive ended their North American run on Sunday in Hollywood. The band commented on the energy Southern California brought on this tour as the night went on.

Parkway Drive Tours America in Support of New Album “Reverence”

Parkway Drive recently released a new full-length album entitled “Reverence” and the show in Hollywood was the first time many Los Angeles natives had the privilege of hearing the new songs performed live.

Many concert attendants commented on the new songs as “heavier” and more aggressive than their previous release, “Ire.”

The overall crowd reaction to Parkway Drive’s new material was positive and the band played a good balance of new material as well as classic hits such as the song “Boneyards” and “Carrion.”

Support for Parkway Drive’s North American tour included metalcore acts August Burn Red and The Devil Wears Prada

Grammy-Nominated Band August Burns Provides “Angry Music For Happy People”

August Burns Red acted as support for this run for Parkway Drive. Their recent slogan “Angry Music for Happy People” could not be truer at the show at the Hollywood Palladium.

August Burns Red is some of the most “in-your-face,” aggressive type of metal around, however, during breakdowns and slow bridges, the members find time to have fun with their performance by dancing all over the stage.

The Devil Wears Prada also acted as support for this tour and played many of their older songs during their set. At the end of their set, the band announced that they will be coming back to Southern California in the winter to celebrate 10 years of one of their most critically-acclaimed releases, “With the Roots Above and Branches Below.”

What Is Next For Parkway Drive

With Parkway Drive concluding their North American run at the Hollywood Palladium, the band plans to return to their home country of Australia to take on a quick hometown run in celebration of the new album and the head to Europe to start another run shortly after.

With a brand new album and renewed energy to match, it does not seem that Parkway Drive will be slowing down anytime soon.
