New Jersey has always been extremely lucky for alternative music fans, with tons of rock shows going on at all times. Starland Ballroom was ecstatic to welcome Manchester Orchestra to NJ for their ‘The Million Masks of God‘ 2022 tour, being their second to last stop of the tour. Their first gig in NJ was back in the mid-2000s, at a small grungy venue known as Maxwell’s which was closed in 2013. Since then, Manchester has skyrocketed in their career into one of indie rock’s most loved and appreciated bands with 1.8 million listeners on Spotify, and a diehard fanbase.
The show had varying energies from the haunting lulls of frontman Andy Hull‘s impassioned melodies, to strong upbeat guitar riffs that got the crowd off of their feet and entranced in the band’s energy.
