Concert Crap: Can you talk about a brief history of the band?
Jeff Azar: I think Jovan (RIP) and Marc met a school full of deliquent hooligan kids. I met them while they were putting ham on a guys car who was trying to steal Jovan’s girlfriend. I joined in. We bonded and started playing together
CC: What does your band name mean?
JA: We loved the word Demi which stems from Demi-God so we figured if you want to be a Demi-God then you have to be a daredevil. We fused the two together which left us with DEMI THE DAREDEVIL.
CC: Who are some of your musical inspirations?
JA: Muse. Green Day. Blink. Queen. The Used. My Chemical Romance. Twenty One Pilots. Show tunes. 90s soft rock. Pop punk.
CC: Who would you like to tour with realistically and un realistically?
JA: Realistically, Mariah Carrey. Did you see her big apple incident? I’d want her to take charge like that when there are technically difficulties. You need a woman like that. She is a good sport.
Unrealistically…. someone like Panic or TøP or Awolnation or Jon Bellion.
CC: What does the rest of 2017 have in store for you guys?
JA: We are going to circle around regionally in Texas a lot. Playing a few showcases in Nashville. Hopefully develop more of a regional fan base. Oh, and release a track every two months. Also we have a deal with a distribution and licensing company called the Orchard, so hoping to land a song in a show or movie. I’d thank my lucky stars. We need money just like anyone else.
CC: Is there anything else you’d like to say to your fans or anyone that may be reading this interview at all?
JA: Yes. Change the soundtrack of your existence. Don’t live in your mind too much.
