Concert Review: Belmont at Programme Skate & Sound in Fullerton, California

Who – Belmont, Rarity, Andy’s Room and Knuckle + Shoot

Where – Programme Skate & Sound in Fullerton, California

When – July 17, 2018

Last week up and coming pop-punk band Belmont made a stop in Fullerton, California at Programme Skate & Sound on part 1 of their album release tour. A lot of people made their way out to this tiny skate shop to hear Belmont play some tunes.

Knuckle + Shoot and Andy’s Room were the first two bands to play and they’re both from Orange County. Both bands played awesome sets and really pumped everyone up for Rarity and Belmont.

Canadian band Rarity who is also on the tour with Belmont hit the stage next. The band were very excited to be there and made sure to show it. The guitarist and the singer both came out into the crowd and sang and played. They made sure everyone was moving around and having a good time. With the crowd sufficiently warmed up, Belmont was up next.

Belmont was the last band of the night to play. The lead singer Taz announced that he was in the ER the night before and that he might need some help singing. The crowd was definitely not afraid to help him out. Right when the band played the first note, the energy level was kicked up a notch. Most of their catalog was played through including songs like “731” and “Overstepping” from their 2016 EP Between You & Me. Towards the end of their set they played “Hollowed Out”, the lead single from their debut self-titled album. The song has barely been out for a month and just like the other songs played, the crowd knew all the words.

Overall, each of the bands at this show brought their own sound that made the night a fun one. Belmont recently announced a new tour starting next month and they’re already moving on up to bigger venues. I think it’s safe to say that there on the way to blowing up, so make sure not to miss them if they play nearby you.

Make sure to check out Belmont’s new album, out August 17th!
