Best of 2018 (So Far) – Part 1

From Ashes To New- My Name

This song was released a bit before The Future came out, and it only got me more excited for the album. Every time I hear this song, I need to listen to it more than once. The band’s rap and rock sounds blend together perfectly in this track.

Story Untold- All The Same (Once A Liar, Always A Liar)

Story Untold is one of the bands that I’m most excited to see on Warped Tour, and “All The Same (Once A Liar, Always A Liar),” is one of my favorite tracks off of Waves. It’s an upbeat song that makes you want to jump around, but the lyrics still have meaning behind them.

Escape The Fate- Riot

It’s hard to pick a favorite track off of I Am Human. The first time I heard “Riot,” I had to immediately repeat it, because it was just that good. It’s a fast-paced song that I think would be great for a live setting.

The Faim- Saints of the Sinners

Even though this band only has three songs out right now, I can tell that they’re going to blow up soon. “Saints of the Sinners” sounds like Fall Out Boy and Panic! at the Disco mixed together, but with its own sound that makes you want to get up and move. I can’t wait to see what this band does next.

Adelitas Way- Still Hungry

Adelita’s Way is a band that I’ve been listening to for years, and they still manage to release singles that impress me. This is another one of those songs that you have to repeat whenever you hear it, because it’s that addictive.

As It Is- The Wounded World

As It Is’ new album, The Great Depression, is coming out August 10th, but they’ve already released two songs off of it. While I love the other song, “The Stigma (Boys Don’t Cry),” just as much as “The Wounded World,” the latter gets stuck in my head more often. The band seems to be heading towards a somewhat different sound, but I’m excited for their album to come out.

Godsmack- Bulletproof

While I’m normally not the biggest fan of Godsmack, I was totally blown away when I first heard this single on the radio. To me, it sounds different from what they’ve previously done, but that only means that Godsmack can appeal to new fans.

All Time Low- Everything Is Fine

This song was released rather recently, and I definitely need to listen to it more. My first reaction was that it was a good song, but then I looked at the lyrics, which gave so much more depth to the song. I’m really looking forward to ATL playing this song on their tour this summer.
