Assuming We Survive headlines Chain Reaction

Assuming We Survive has been riding a wave to success in 2015, and continued into 2016 that seems to have no end.  The band headlined Chain Reaction in Anaheim on Saturday.  This show had a large local following to it with the support and headliners.

The band got a big break, playing Self Help Festival in March, and opening up a tour for Falling in Reverse, Attila and Metro Station in the fall.

The band played a full hour to a packed house and fans went wild from start to finish.  Lead singer Adrian Estrella took all the energy he had and threw it into the crowd to help amp up the band’s entire set.  He encouraged plenty of fan participation, talked around all the band’s songs, and even jumped into the audience and ran around the venue.

The band’s diverse sound has pop punk, alternative, easycore music stylings that many people of the genres can relate and get into.  Singer Estrella also said that the band would be playing with Matchbook Romance for a few shows, playing a March headliner, and announce something big later in the year that they could not quite announce yet.  Expect the band to make even bigger waves for the rest of 2016 and years to come.

Vampires Everywhere played right before the headliners and pumped a fog machine into the venue to set their ambiance for the evening.  Decked out and blacked out in plenty of dark clothing, the Hollywood band played their hearts out and started off 2016 with a bang.

Rancho Cucamonga band Dose (formerly Dose of Adolescence) played third and their hip-hop, nu metal sound sent shockwaves through the Anaheim air.  Many fans sung along to their upbeat music.  Keep an eye out for these guys, as they have the sound that few others have.

XO Stereo are the news guys on the block, and played second during the evening.  They played songs off of their EP The Struggle.  The LA natives even played two brand new songs they’ve never played before this evening to give fans a taste of their new album they are currently working on and planning on releasing some time this year.  The song that everyone should have recognized was their finale which was a cover of the Real Life song “Send Me an Angel” with an XO Stereo spin on it with plenty of guitar work and soulful sung lyrics.

Openers for the evening In Urgency played to many fans in attendance.  Even though they were first, plenty of people sang along to many of their songs, to the band’s surprise.  The band even filmed a video during their final song, “Without These Walls,” during which, fans and band alike went nuts during the final breakdown.  It’ll be a treat for everyone to see the final version of this released video some time in the future.

All in all, this show was wonderful.  It was a local show but with bands that are breaking, or about to breakout very soon.  Each band had their own different rock spins and sounds.  Keep an eye out for all of them in 2016 and years to come.
