Los Angeles rock band The Kings of Jade are a band that are influenced by legendary bands like Guns N’ Roses and Aerosmith but add in their own unique sound. The band formed in 2015 with the intent to deliver music that allows people to feel empowered. Consisting of Andy Jade, Jerry Jade, Ivy Manson, Vinnie Uh and Logan Nikolic they’ve played a lot of shows at classic venue in Hollywood.

The band recently released their first single called “Ready or Not” which was mastered by Robert L. Smith, who is known for producing, recording and mixing lots of top 100 hit songs as well as working with bands like Aerosmith, U2 and David Bowie.

When I first listened to this song it wasn’t exactly what I expected which was nice. It begins with what sounds like bongo drums which you don’t hear very ofter in rock music. The bongos go away and the classic drum sound returns. Lead singer Andy Jade has a very traditional sounding classic rock voice; it’s very similar to what you would hear from bigger rock bands. The chorus of the song is catchy and will most likely get stuck in your head when you hear it. Later on in the song there’s a killer guitar solo that will have you playing air guitar along with the solo.

Most rock songs stick to one very uniform sound and it makes them all kind of predictable before you even listen to them. “Ready or Not” has those elements to it that make it sound like a rock song. But with the little twists in the song such as the bongo drums at the beginning, this song is refreshing.

This is a band whose music stands out from the crowd because of the extra stuff they add in and they shouldn’t be ignored.
