An Artist I Just Got Into: Trophy Eyes

Hey, it’s me again! Late to hop on Trophy Eyes train. But are we surprised at this point? I feel like I’m consistently getting into artists a bit later than everyone else, but it’s honestly because I spend about 14 hours of each day working at either my full-time job or with my business, so I have to carve out time to listen to new stuff and truly be able to appreciate it.

Anyway, Trophy Eyes. This band SLAPS. I photographed them back at Disrupt fest in 2019, and why I didn’t start listening then, I’ll never know. I do remember downloading their song “You Can Count on Me” because it was so catchy, but I never took the time to listen past that.

Recently they dropped some new tunes, a track in 2020 called “Figure Eight”, and a track just this past month, “27 Club”. Figure Eight has been a personal favorite of mine since listening; it is just a banger of a song. The lyrics are great, the bridge is phenomenal, and the entire structure of the song really impressed me.

27 Club is an edgy single, I can’t say that I love it as much as Figure Eight, but it is a great song nonetheless with a catchy chorus.

Other notable songs from the band’s discography would be “Breathe You In”, “Suicide Pact”, and “May 24”.
